While working in the hospital setting as a registered nurse, I had the opportunity to serve as a preceptor to new nurse graduates. Serving as a nurse preceptor sparked my interest in attending graduate school and pursuing a degree in nursing education.
Beginning in the spring of 2011, I started working as an adjunct clinical instructor for King. In the fall of 2012, I transitioned into a full time faculty position. Over the last three years I have taught in both the traditional BSN program as well as the RN-BSN program. Currently, I teach adult health nursing and pharmacology. I thoroughly enjoy taking students into the clinical setting and watching them put classroom theory into practice.
2011-Master of Science in Nursing Education (MSN)-King College
2007-Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)-Radford University
